Dublin

Got up early to catch the 6.30 train to Heathrow - had a pretty terrible nights sleep as I kept waking up worrying I'd miss my alarm call. The weather in southern England still pretty humid and warm for September. We have two dates in Ireland on this short tour - Dublin and Belfast, pretty much exactly three years to the month we last played here.  Our promoter is Pat Byrne again, all round great guy and uke enthusiast. We are a travelling party of eight: Jonty, Will, Leisa, Richie, Ben, Hester, me and Dave plus Doug sound engineering for us and Jodi road managing.Since we all live in different places, we flew in from different directions: Jonty from Hamburg, Jodi, Hester and Richie from Southampton and the rest of us from Heathrow Waiting at the carousel again - I always find myself humming the theme tune from the musical of the same name by Rogers and Hammerstein. Walking to the taxi rank at Dublin airport.Needless to say we arrived at our hotel before the rooms were ready and had to hang around in reception for 45 minutes.

It's manager Jodi's birthday today

Finally got into our rooms in time to have a quick sixty minute doze before we had to go to the theatre.

Bus to the venue

I remember this row of double basses from the last time we visited - we had a short meet and greet with a local ukulele group before the show. Soundchecking

The auditorium at the National Concert Hall

Waiting to go on

And going on for the encore - it was a good show.

And plenty of people came up to say hello afterwards
